CTC Therapy

What is CTC Therapy? Think it sounds a little 'woo woo'? I sat down with Amy Crawford of The Holistic Ingredient, to find out the details.

---------

NM: So, tell us about this CTC therapy you provide. What is it exactly?

AC: CTC stands for Combined Therapy Cocktail. It has actually also been trademarked as Cut The Crap – because that is pretty much what I do, ‘cut the crap’ from people’s lives that holds them back from feeling amazing.

Essentially it is a two-hour life transformational therapy combining a number of therapies including (but not limited to) hypnosis, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT, also known as tapping), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Reiki.

What I do is find the root cause of ALL of a client’s ‘negative’ emotions. I don't treat the symptom – I find the root cause that created a negative feeling, fear, limiting belief, addiction, insecurity, illness, trust issue, etc., and then manifested over the years.

So for example, perhaps as a little girl you had an experience that left you feeling inadequate, not good enough or worthless. You have then carried those feelings into all areas of your life and now it weighs heavily, it has manifested in all sorts of different ways and prevents you from being the best you can be. That being said, it is not for my client to find that root cause out prior to or during the session, it’s for me to find it and it always comes!

What makes this session so utterly effective is the way in which these therapies are bundled together. Of course each therapy can be highly effective as stand-alone therapies; however, they are unlikely to get to the bottom of everything that is going on for a client on their own.

NM: So, you carry out this therapy via Skype and face to face. Is there any difference in effectiveness?

AC: There’s absolutely no difference in effectiveness whether I see my clients face to face or on Skype, no. I see clients from all over the world, which is just amazing; I meet the most extraordinary people from far-reaching corners of the globe and watch their transformation from afar.

Probably about 70 per cent of my sessions are via Skype these days; it’s easier for my clients being able to avoid traffic, to save time in their busy days – plus there’s the added benefit of sitting tight in your UGG boots! All the processes remain exactly the same bar EFT (tapping), where I become a surrogate for the client and then guide them to tap on themselves. It’s worth mentioning that the client has his or eyes closed for most of the session anyway, so whether they are with me or not makes little difference really.

Also, Reiki is not affected by time or distance; I treat clients via Reiki regardless of their location.

NM: How many sessions does a client need?

AC: This is the remarkable bit. One! Every one of my clients’ issues can be dealt with in one session, it doesn’t matter how much stuff they have going on, and typically it all comes down to the same underlying issues.

NM: It all sounds a little too good to be true. I imagine you hear that a lot?

AC: A LOT! Many just can’t get their head around the idea and fair enough, too. I was sceptical when I had my treatment, it sounded a little too ‘woo woo’ for my logical brain! I have since learned that as humans we overcomplicate everything – we’ve been lead to believe that if we’ve been carrying this ‘crap’ around for 10, 20, 30 years we must surely have to go to therapy for 10 years to clear it. I know now, however, that the solution is far simpler than that – we simply need to change the way we look at things.

Significantly, I am not in the business of pressuring anyone to do this session, it has to FEEL right; it must resonate with the client. For example, I often hear from mothers wishing to book their daughters in and as much as I would love to work with any and all of them, there isn’t any point unless the client is invested and feels ready to let everything go.

NM: You mentioned that you have had a CTC session. Is this why you became a practitioner?

AC: Yes, I had a session almost four years ago. At that time I had chronic fatigue syndrome and wasn’t well enough to work full time. I was in fact unemployed as a result of my illness. I felt utterly stuck; I had a need to please my father, I had a paralysing fear of public speaking, the list went on and on.

Needless to say I walked free of the lot, including my illness and all the fears I had around that (of never having a normal life for, example). The Holistic Ingredient, and all that I now do, was born within three months of my session and public speaking is now my very favourite thing. I still can’t believe that I am able to say that.

This is the reason I became a CTC practitioner, it so utterly changed my own life I had a very strong calling to share it with others.

NM: Can you give us some examples of issues you deal with on a regular basis?

AC: I work with an incredibly broad range of issues, but there are some common ones that come up frequently including:

> a fear of public speaking
> anxiety and panic attacks
> food related issues
> a difficulty letting go of past issues and forgiving
> the feeling of being stuck or blocked
> addictions to sugar, food, smoking
> a feeling of not being good enough
> a fear of what others think
> negative body image
> anger
> guilt
> money related issues.

NM: Is anything required of the client post treatment?

AC: Absolutely. I am not a miracle therapist. I can’t simply click my fingers and promise that someone’s woes will disappear forever. This therapy, like anything else, requires that a client takes responsibility for his or her own healing post treatment.

For example, if you went to see a doctor and they said that you needed to eat one apple a day for a month in order to stay well, they couldn’t be there to make sure that you do. In the same way, I give my client some really simple tips and tools and some (easy) homework to ensure they get the very best out of their session. If a client walks away and chooses to make the same decisions, to think the same thoughts, nothing will change.

Having said that, I am always here for support following the session.

NM: Do you have any testimonials to share with us today?

AC: I have so many and they are the reason I keep doing what I do. There are plenty more on my website here http://www.theholisticingredient.com/pages/wellness-therapies.

… I have never ever been so confident in myself and proud to be myself before. I have actually never been able to say that I love myself, but I can since the CTC and the work you encouraged me to do afterwards. This happiness and confidence gives me the motivation to strive for bigger and better things because I know I can do them and I know I deserve them! I cannot thank you enough, you literally have given me the opportunity to really find who I am and be proud of that! – Fiona

… Not only did I leave the session feeling empowered and free of my addiction…but I also gained a clear direction for my future path towards contentment. – Anonymous

… I can’t even begin to explain how a 2.5 hour session has worked so well, but I have come out without a single craving, negative body image thought or obsession... It has literally disappeared overnight. As an added bonus, I also feel more positive, on track, motivated and ‘whole’ than I have ever felt in my life. I’m very excited to see what the future holds for me. – Heidi

NM: What final bit of advice would you give to someone considering a CTC session with you?

AC: Let go of the need to know how this works, be open to the idea that it can and simply trust in the process. If it feels right to you, if it resonates, it will be utterly transformational.

I see entire families; husbands call me because they can’t believe the change in their wives, teenagers have come as a result of shifts in their mum, I saw six members of a small business at one point for the same reason. You simply need to change the way you see things and be prepared to make better, more empowered choices.
