HLT52016 Diploma of Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultation

The Collective Wellness Institute (RTO 22569) is proud to now offer the Diploma of Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultation course for the first time in Melbourne.

Entwined philosophically, historically and synergistically is the sister of yoga, Ayurveda!  In essence, yoga is said to be the practical application to ones health
and Ayurveda its philosophy.

Known as the Science of Life, Ayurveda is the ancient healing system of India and is said to be over 5,000 years old. The principle of Ayurveda is that the body is made up of five elements: Space, Air, Water, Fire and Earth.

When all these elements work together in harmony, they make a healthy person.  These elements are in different proportions for each individual and everyone has certain elements which are more dominant than others. This balance, makes up your 'dosha' - either Vatta, Kapha or Pitta.

Ayurvedic Practitioners can listen carefully to hear the qualities of a person's individual elements and by looking at their tongue and eyes they can get a picture of their whole health.  Treatment is then prescribed to restore imbalances and promote the flow of vital energy.  An integrated approach to treatment is taken to address physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of the individual. Treatments will vary but may include, dietary recommendations, Ayurvedic medicinal herbs, lifestyle modifications, yogic breathing exercises and meditation practices.

In this program, students will learn how to understand the elements of an individual, provide herbal massages and treatments for personal ailments, prescribe traditional herbs, and tailor lifestyle recommendations to balance and enhance well-being.

This course has been developed in part with Ayurvedic Doctors and references the traditional text Charaka Samhita.

Classes are holistic, modern and flexible with coursework and training videos online, and practical classes held one day a week.  Our training is accessible, flexible, engaging and attuned to industry needs, whilst providing support to all students along their path to successful completion of their studies.  What's more, 98 per cent of our graduates move into industry-based careers!
