Asthma and Respiratory Support
Ways to support asthma and your respiratory health from Ayurvedic Practitioner Tegan Wallis of Veda Wellness

If you’re feeling respiratory symptoms aggravate or occur due to the smoke, here are a few clinical supplements you can try to complement your asthma action plan.

>>> FIRST LINE STRATEGY <<<

1. Acute relief of allergic respiratory symptoms
· Antihistamine and anti-inflammatory symptomatic relief: Quercetin, Bromelains, Vitamin C

2. Mucolytic herbs and nutrients to moderate clinging mucous secretions and manage cough
· Herbal Respiratory Support – Refer to article in @svadhyaya_rituals bio for more detailed information. Herbs like Liquorice, Pushkamool and Adhatoda relieve congestion by thinning sputum for effective expectoration
· N-Acetyl Cysteine: thins mucous, especially in the lungs.

3. Relax bronchoconstriction and support anti-inflammatory activity
· Magnesium: Magnesium is required for ATP synthesis and healthy contraction and relaxation of muscles.
· A shot of espresso coffee! Caffeine is a bronchodilator
· Turmeric & Ginger
· Eucalyptus oil steam

3. Reduce inflammation
· Omega 3 fatty acids: hemp seed oil, flaxseed/ linseed or high-quality fish oil
· Turmeric & Ginger

4. Increase T-regulatory cells and modulate immune response
· Probiotic: Lactobacillus rhamnosus

Please note: this is not to replace medical advice – it’s to complement. Always consult a qualified health practitioner before starting any supplementation, especially if on any pharmaceutical medication.
